Darcy Park to lead Team Alberta U16 team into International Bowl

Thirty-eight (38) of Alberta-s best youth players will take part in the 2016 International Bowl on Friday, Feb. 3, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff against the U.S. Under-16 National Team is 1 p.m. CT.

The Alberta Under-16 team is coached by Darcy Park, the head coach of the Edmonton Wildcats of the Canadian Junior Football League. A former player in the CFL, Park has been on the Wildcats- staff since 1999, taking over head coaching duties in 2011.

To be eligible for the Under-16 team, players must have been born on or after Jan. 1, 2000.

The games are a collaboration of the sport-s national governing bodies in each country – USA Football and Football Canada – featuring top student-athletes in high school football-s greatest annual international competition.

The event will feature a week of practices and activities for each team, culminating in internationally sanctioned competitions.
