Edmonton Wildcats Exhibition Games

The Edmonton Wildcats hosted exhibition games at Clarke Park today, Sunday August 2nd at 12:00pm with a healthy crowd on hand of about 800 people. The first games saw the Edmonton Wildcats take on their cross town rivals the Edmonton Huskies. They played a mini game of two quarters with the Wildcats coming out on top 24 – 0. Rookie wide receiver Jared Lambert opened the scoring with a 85 yard punt return for a touchdown, while running back Liam Dow scored the other two majors on 15 and 10 yard scampers. In the second mini game the Edmonton Wildcats took on the Calgary Colts losing 14 – 0. The Wildcats couldn’t seen to generate much offense through the two quarters of play, but the defense showed some consistency in the game with some key tackles by Gabriel David, Neil King and Corbin Sharun.

The season opener will commence this weekend at Clarke Park Saturday August 8th at 7:00pm with a playoff rematch between the Edmonton Wildcats and the Calgary Colts. The Wildcats will be looking for redemption after a heartbreaking lose to the Colts in the first round of the playoffs last season

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field around 7:00 pm nightly.
