Wildcats Hit the Road to Face the Colts

The Edmonton Wildcats travel to Calgary this weekend to take on the Calgary Colts on Saturday August 29th 7:00pm at McMahon Stadium. A win on Saturday will keep them on top in the PFC standings and restore their confidence after a tough loss to the Saskatoon Hilltops this past weekend.

After putting away the Calgary Colts 35 – 21 in their season opener earlier this month the Wildcats will be out to prove that they are indeed the best team in the PFC.

With strong outings from Kevin Wuthrich and Jerit Lambert over the past couple of games QB Andy Pilon will be looking to exploit the Calgary defense with their potent offense while relying on their defensive secondary to shut down the passing game and control the line of scrimmage with the likes of Mike Podloski, Gabriel David and Rory Connop.

Specials teams will be a key in the matchup this weekend with David Berg leading the PFC in punt returns while on defense, Mike Podloski is second in defensive points.

With Kevin Wuthrich tied for the lead with 4 TD’s and Andy Pilon leading the conference with a 101.2 passer rating it should make for an interesting game on Saturday.

Next game sees the Wildcats at home, taking on the Winnipeg Rifles in a rematch Sunday September 6th 12:00pm at Clarke Park

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field at around 7:30 pm nightly.
