Wildcats Take On Cross Town Rival Huskies

The Edmonton Wildcats host their last home game of the regular season with a matchup against the cross town rival Edmonton Huskies at Clarke Park on Saturday September 19th at 7:00 pm.

The Wildcats are coming off a bye week and are hungry for some football action while focused on securing a playoff berth in the PFC. The Huskies on the other hand are looking to get into the win column after being manhandled by the Calgary Colts at home last weekend.

The offence led by Andy Pilon is looking to continue the success they had in their last game at home two weeks ago in their shootout win against the Rifles. The running and passing game will be key factors in the matchup with the likes of Kevin Wuthrich leading the conference with 5 receiving TD’s and Justin McEvoy 2nd in rushing. Special teams will also be a factor as well with David Berg leading the conference in Punt Returns, Jerit Lambert leading in Kick Returns and Ben Hnidan the Wildcats Rookie Kicker leading the PFC in total points with 50.

Matt Lalande on defense is coming off a 22 point, 10 tackle game against the Rifles and is looking for a strong outing again in the matchup this weekend, supported by Mike Podloski, Gabriel David and Rory Connop, with Corbin Sharun anchoring the secondary.

Come out this weekend and help support Junior Football in Edmonton and the battle for football supremacy in the city. Hope to see you there.

Next game sees the Wildcats on the road, taking on the Regina Thunder, Sunday September 27th 1:00pm at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field at around 7:30 pm nightly.
