On August 9 at 7:15pm we will be hosting our first Blue and White Club meeting at the clubhouse. The Blue and White Club is open to any family members of current players who want to stay in the loop and be involved with the club for the season. Come out on August 9 and learn more about this opportunity! If you have any questions, give Meghann a call at 780-919-8624.
2016 Season passes are now available for purchase! The season pass gets you into our four home games (Aug.13, Aug. 27, Sept.4, Oct.16). Please note that the September 17 game against the Edmonton Huskies is a league-hosted game, so season passes are not valid.
Passes are available for sale at the gate, during Main Camp, or online. If you purchase online, the tickets will be available for pickup at the gate, or can be sent home with your athlete!
The Edmonton Wildcats are kicking off our Main Camp this weekend!
The first practice starts at 6:30pm on Friday, July 29 and runs through until 9:30 pm. Both Saturday and Sunday will kick off around 10:00am and wind up at 3:00pm on Saturday and 1:00pm on Sunday. Monday will be a break, and everyone returns Tuesday for nightly practices leading up to the Exhibition Jamboree on Saturday, August 6 in Lloydminster against the Regina Thunder.
“It’s a tough, competitive group we’re bringing into Main Camp”, says Head Coach Darcy Park. “It was a busy off-season for the players, and we saw tremendous growth from both the recruits and our veterans through the weekly workouts. Everyone knows that they are competing for a spot on the roster, and they’re coming into camp prepared to earn it”.
The Canadian Junior Football League named 4 Wildcats in their Top 50 players of the 2016 season, including second year Running Back Armand Katamba, 3rd year Receiver Tristan Schultenkamper, 2nd year Defensive Back Jayden Dalke, and 2nd year Defensive Back and 2015 CJFL Rookie of the Year, Tony Savchuk.
While these four are definitely top of the list to keep an eye on, the quarterback battle brings another challenge to this years’ camp. With 5-year starting Quarterback Jordan Olson aging out of the CJFL, there is a battle between 4th year Colton Hippe, 3rd year Justin Swedish, and 2nd year Austin Ericson for the starting Quarterback position. “All three bring a very distinct style of play, which will only help us this season”, says Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach Jeff Stead. “The QB that can play confidently and maintain a high cerebral level will be the QB we roll with to start the season. It will be one of the most competitive camps the Cats have seen in a long time”.
There are over 95 athletes coming out to compete for a spot on the 2016 team. The final roster will be determined after the Exhibition Game in Lloydminster.

The Edmonton Wildcats and Regina Thunder are meeting up in Lloydminster on August 6 for an Exhibition Game! The exhibition game is a great chance for the coaches to get to see their players in a real-game setting before finalizing the team they will take with them into the first regular season game. The Wildcats and Thunder only play each other once in the regular season, and not until October 16, making this an ideal matchup!
The game will be held at the Holy Rosary High School at 3pm. Tickets are available at the gate.
We have a casino coming up on September 15 and 16 and are looking for volunteers to help out! The casino is our second largest fundraiser and helps keep player fees low. Please sign up by clicking on the link below. If you have any questions, contact Corinne at casino@edmontonwildcats.com
