2015 Wes Montgomery Award Recipient

The 2015 Wes Montgomery award recipient is one of the few winners who Wes could actually

look in the eye. Ryan came to the Wildcats in the 2011 season after a successful High School

career with the Bev Facey Falcons.

Ryan made an immediate impact with the Wildcats by both playing receiver and handling the

kicking duties as a first year player. Ryan earned an invitation that summer to be a part of the

U19 Team Canada squad that beat the U.S. team (quarterbacked by Jamieson Winston) for the

first time at the 2012 World Juniors. Ryan came back from that experience more confident and

as a second year player began to take on a leadership role on the Wildcats team.

Throughout his career Ryan has played larger than his physical stature. He is a fierce competitor

and often one of the emotional leaders with the team. Ryan has been a part of the leadership

group for the past 4 seasons and has been involved in our In The Community program, which

allows Wildcat players to get involved with various nonprofit organizations throughout the City.

Ryan is currently enrolled in Business at MacEwan University, and has continued to strive to be

as good in the classroom as he is on the field.

Congratulations Ryan, on this tremendous honor!
