Wildcats & Colts in the Battle of Alberta

The 0-2 Edmonton Wildcats head south to take on the 1-1 Calgary Colts this Sunday at McMahon Stadium, start time 2:00pm. The Wildcats are hungry for their first win and will be focused on execution to get them back on track and move the club into a tie with Calgary heading into next weekends tilt at home with Winnipeg.

The Wildcats came off a close disappointing loss in their home opener against the Colts and they want to return the favor in Calgary this weekend. Keeping the Colts offense off the field and putting together sustained drives, along with special teams execution will be key factors in the Wildcats success on Sunday.

The Wildcat’s 2nd year Quarterback Andrew Johnson is coming off a rough couple of games but has renewed focus and determination to get his squad into the win column this weekend. With the likes of Taylor Souster at running back, Adam Senuik and Tylor Henry at receiver he will have some solid weapons to help him achieve his goal.

Defensively the Cats will again be relying heavily on veteran DL Steven Giang and LB Kevin Hanson to anchor the defense with Miguel Barker, Kael Schryver, Zack Brown and Kris Gibson locking down the secondary.

Next game sees the Wildcats on home turf to take on the Winnipeg Rifles at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton on Sunday September 4th at 2:00pm.

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field at around 7:30 pm nightly.
