Wildcats Take On Their Cross Town Rival Huskies

The Edmonton Wildcats are playing visitors this weekend at Clarke Stadium, as they battle their cross town rival Huskies with a Saturday night tilt starting at 7:00pm. The Wildcats are coming off a convincing win on the road against the Winnipeg Rifles this past weekend which saw the Wildcats shut out the Rifles in the second half on their way to a 34-20 win to start of their season on a positive note.

Offensively the Wildcats want to continue the momentum with Quarterback Jordan Olson at the helm. He had a solid game against the Rifles throwing a TD pass to Ryan Smith while rookie running back Jordan Samoil rushed for 3 TD on the afternoon.

Defensively the Cats had two picks courtesy of Adam Laurensse who joined the team this year coming over from the V.I. Raiders of the BCFC conference. On special teams rookie kicker Ideen Samadi was 2 for 3 on field goal attempts and was good on all of his convert attempts off major scores.

Next game sees the Wildcats in their home opener hosting the Calgary Colts on Sunday August 26th 2:00pm at Clarke Park.

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field at around 7:30 pm nightly.
