WILDCATS SOCK DRIVE AT SEPTEMBER 24 GAME SUPPORTING SOCKS4HOPE

The Edmonton Wildcats are encouraging fans to bring new packages of socks to the Wildcats home game on September 24 vs. Edmonton Huskies (7:00 pm-Emerald Hills Regional Park in Sherwood Park) for a chance to win a Jasper helicopter tour (tour provided by Remote Helicopters Ltd.). Every 10 pairs of socks donated will receive 1 entry into the draw to win. The socks are being collected for Socks4Hope, a non-profit organization that collects and distributes socks to those experiencing homelessness in our city.

 

HNLIVE.CA TO BROADCAST ALL WILDCATS HOME GAMES

The Wildcats Football Club are proud to partner with HNLive.ca to bring fans broadcasts of all Wildcats home games. The first game to be broadcast by HNLive.ca will be this Saturday vs. Edmonton Huskies when pre-game will start at 6:30 pm ahead of the 7:00 pm kickoff at Emerald Hills Regional Park in Sherwood Park. Fans can purchase a single game pass for $20 and a Wildcats home game season pass for $75 for HNLive.ca broadcasts. CJFL TV is also providing coverage of the game at https://www.cjfltv.com/en/

The Wildcats 2021 NFL Survivor Pool is now open!

If you think you have what it takes to walk away the victor of the Wildcats 2021 NFL Survivor Pool (operated through runyourpool.com), the cost is $20 per entry.

You can enter as many times as you want and in order to get your code to participate from our commissioner, you will need to etransfer $20 per entry to nflpool@edmontonwildcats.com. Once the etransfer is confirmed, our commissioner will email you back the code to get into the game.

The winner of the pool gets 50% of the pot, while the other 50% will go to the Wildcats Football Club to help with club operations.

The pool starts in the first week of the NFL regular season starting September 9, 2021.

WILDCATS FIND A HOME IN STRATHCONA COUNTY

The Wildcats Football Club have found a home in Strathcona County, with all 2021 Wildcats home games to be played at Emerald Hills Regional Park in Sherwood Park. The Wildcats Football Club has a long history of junior football in the area that dates back to the creation of the team in 1948. The highest level of junior football in Canada is now on its way to Strathcona County and fans can expect hard-hitting and fast-paced football action with the Wildcats and other Prairie Football Conference teams (Calgary Colts, Edmonton Huskies, Regina Thunder, Saskatoon Hilltops, Winnipeg Rifles).

The Wildcats first home game at Emerald Hills Regional Park is Saturday, August 28 (7:00 pm) vs. arch rival Edmonton Huskies. Season passes are available at the gate and are $50 for Adults (18+). Adult single game tickets are $15. Students and Children (17 and under) are admitted free to all Wildcats home games. The 2021 PFC Schedule can be found here

Wildcats Football Club to play 2021 season home games at Emerald Hills Regional Park

Strathcona County and the Wildcats Football Club are proud to announce the Wildcats will be playing their 2021 season home games at the Emerald Hills Regional Park between August 28 and October 23, 2021.

The Wildcats compete in the Prairie Football Conference of the Canadian Junior Football League. This league has been a stepping stone for many athletes to advance to University and Collegiate football, as well as professional football in the Canadian Football League. Strathcona County football players currently on the roster include graduates from Ardrossan, Bev Facey and Salisbury high schools.

“Strathcona County is an active sporting community, and we are excited to welcome the Wildcats Football Club for the 2021 season. We look forward to watching the team hit the field at Emerald Hills Regional Park and to welcome all visiting teams to our county,” says Strathcona County Mayor Rod Frank.

“The Wildcats are tremendously excited to play our home games at Emerald Hills Regional Park for the 2021 season. From the beginning, everyone in Strathcona County, from Mayor Frank to County Administration, have been first class to deal with. We hope that we can bring an exciting brand of football to Strathcona County this season,” says Wildcats Football Club President Brad Gatschene.

The 1st Annual Al Park Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on August 27 at the Edmonton Garrison Memorial Golf & Country Club and registration is open now!

Staffing Announcement

The Edmonton Wildcat Football Club would like to welcome Clint Byblow to the organization. Clint will be heavily involved in our football operations and we couldn’t be happier to have another dedicated member of the football community join us.

Sine 2008, Clint has held numerous positions over the years from Atom to High School, spanning over 25 teams. Clint served as the Equipment Director for the Strathcona County Minor Football Association, Sherwood Park Wolverines, Sherwood Park Northstars, and Ardrossan Bisons. Clint is proud to have been part of Provincial Championship teams at each level. He has held numerous executive board positions and a has total passion for making sure we all support the integrity and growth of this great game.

Offensive Coordinator Annoucement

It is with great excitement that the Edmonton Wildcats welcome Kavis Reed to the team as the Offensive Coordinator! Kavis brings with him years of experience as a coach and General Manager in the CFL. The former Edmonton Eskimo has spent the majority of past playing career supporting and putting a spotlight on amateur football in the Edmonton area using his many platforms. Coach Reed will play an integral role in continuing the steady improvement of the club, with the ultimate goal of winning a national championship. He will oversee the offense during the 2020 season and will be reunited with former teammate Blake Dermott, who is also currently on the staff.

Defensive Coordinator Announcement

The Edmonton Wildcat Football Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Paul Schwartz as our Defensive Coordinator for the 2020 season.  Coach Schwartz was a 5 year Wildcat before going on to begin his teaching and coaching career with the Ardrossan Bisons.  For 21 years Coach Schwartz was a mainstay for Ardrossan, quietly building one of the best programs in the province of Alberta.  Throughout his time at Ardrossan the Bisons competed in 11 provincial finals, winning 5 of them.  Coach Schwartz is a strong communicator, a passionate leader, and a tireless worker widely recognized for his character.  Welcome home, Paul!
