Wildcats acquire Wild Kittens.

And no, we did not adopt kittens…yet.

Two of our Wildcats coaches have had a busy offseason with the births of their precious new babies.

Coach Jordan Olson and girlfriend Dallas welcomed little Paisleigh at the end of October just in time for Halloween. And Coach Tanner Lestus and girlfriend Janine welcomed little Grayson recently as well.

The Wildcats CREW is so excited for both coaches and to watch these little ones grow up!

Dalke recieves All Canadian Defensive Award

Damn, Jayden. This seems to be a common theme as we work our way through the CJFL offseason this year, and awards are released from the conference and the league.

Jayden Dalke (21) was named as an All Canadian Defensive Back, finishing the season leading the league with 61 tackles, 4 assisted tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception.

Again, the Wildcats organization is incredibly proud of Jayden and all of the hard work he continuously puts out each and every day, both on and off the field.

Prairie Football Conference Major Awards

The Praire Football Conference has released their Outstanding Player Award Winners for the 2017 Season.

Out of the 13 recipients, Wildcats Defensive Back Jayden Dalke (21) was awarded the Outstanding Defensive Back Award!

The Wildcats Organization is extremely proud of Jayden, and his impressive season that included 61 tackles and 4 assisted tackles!

October 10, 2017 – Darrin Park’s Day

Yesterday, Mayor Don Iveson proclaimed October 10, 2017 as Darrin Park’s Day.

Darrin, brother to Head Coach Darcy Park has been bravely living with brain cancer while still living his best life possible and fulfilling the Edmonton spirit.

A huge thank you to Mayor Iveson and the City of Edmonton for recognizing one of our CREW members.

2017 Graduating Players

This year we have five graduating players. Earlier this season, Head Coach Darcy Park took some time to write about each graduating player for our seasonal Game Day programs.

Colton Hippe

Graduating from Holy Rosary High School in Lloydminster, Colton has been a valuable member of the organization. Colton has been a great teammate and leader who has sat on the leadership committee for the past two seasons. Colton was usually the first to arrive every day and the last to leave. His passion for the game was evident and he always had a smile on his face at practice and at games. We thank Colton for his support and contribution to our community programs and wish him the best of luck in the future.

Bray Josue

As another graduate of Holy Rosary High School, Bray has been a constant source of energy for the club. Probably one of our most photographed players – Bray’s commitment and efforts on and off the field are going to be missed just as much as his big smile. Regardless of what was happening, the Wildcats could always count on Bray to bring enthusiasm and passion to the day. Bray will be missed and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Albanie Laderoute

A graduate of Ross Sheppard High School in Edmonton, Albanie grew into a key member of the club whose dedication and commitment served as an example to all the other players. Albanie persevered through injuries and loss of loved ones during his five years. He has become a man we are all proud to be associated with and will always hold a special place in the Wildcats community.

Rasheed & Rashaad Robinson

It is logical to speak of these two identical twins and graduates from Holy Trinity High School at the same time. They did everything the same, both worked hard to become playmakers on the field, and both suffered serious knee injuries that cost them most of two seasons. But both made an effort to find ways to contribute away from the field during that time. Big smiles and big hitters, the club thanks Rashaad and Rasheed from their efforts over the past 5 years and we wish them luck in their future.

Nolan Hunt

Nolan is a graduate of Harry Ainlay High School and has been a jack of all trades throughout his 5 years with the Wildcats. He bounced between Linebacker and Defensive Back whenever the club needed him and was always counted on as a key member of special teams. He was a key contributor to our community projects and will be greatly missed. Thank you for your service to the club, and best of luck Nolan.

All members of our graduating class have played a role in building and growing our In the Community program, all have become fixtures in the locker room and will be remembered fondly by the Executives, Coaches, staff and their teammates.

ONCE A WILDCAT, ALWAYS A WILDCAT.

October 8 vs. Calgary Colts

The final regular season Edmonton Wildcats game of the year is this coming Sunday, October 8 at 1pm at Clarke Stadium. Come out and enjoy the beautiful Thanksgiving weekend weather.

We will have Wildcats hats available for purchase, as well as other swag items like water bottles, blankets, CREW shirts and jerseys.

Team Building with the Edmonton Police Service

October 4 2017
Written by : Allie Stanton

Yesterday, the Wildcats players and coaches participated in a different kind of practice. It was the practice of sweat. The team visited the Edmonton Police Services training facility in Griesbach for a team building evening.

The evening started with a quick warm up, followed by a casual beep test, nothing too crazy…in the beginning. Round after round, athleticism was tested. And after 11 rounds, Jayden Dalke and Isaiah Brown were the last two standing. From there it was all about the body weight in a tabata style workout. Pushups, lunges, plank up-downs, squats, abdominal boat holds, and a quick relay race to flush out the lactic acid building up in their bodies. The team camaraderie was electric. There were smiles through the pain, players encouraging each other to keep going, and coaches ensuring that they were also giving it their all.

The evening continued on with a information session regarding recruitment with the EPS, and players and coaches received a first hand account of what is it like to be a Edmonton Police officer. To complete the evening, the players sat through another session with the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters and their “Leading Change” program.

We thank the Edmonton Police Service not only for a fun filled evening, but especially for everything they do to Protect and Serve our family, friends, communities and city.

National Coaches Week

September 23-30 is National Coaches Week. This is a time where we take a minute to thank our coaches for everything that they have done for our team.

Keep your eye on Facebook and Instagram to see what we have been creating to thank them!
